Series of cultural events held to boost Pakistan-France Ties

Pakistani Ambassador to France Shafkat Saeed inaugurated the series of cultural events under the rubric 'Pakistan in Paris' organized by Alliance Francaise in Paris Friday evening. Addressing the ceremony, the Ambassador appreciated the efforts made by the Alliance to bring to the French audiences Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and its colourful diversity.

“By putting these remarkable events together, I hope that we will succeed in dispelling some negative impressions emerging out of our region in recent months,” he added. The ambassador also drew attention of the audience to an ongoing exhibition organized by Museum Guimet at Paris entitled, “Pakistan where Civilization meet” that brings to together the best artifacts of Gandhara period.

Earlier, speaking on the occasion the representatives of Alliance Francaise recounted the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan and their desire to present the true face of Pakistan to the French public. The one month long events organized under this programme include photographic exhibition, music concerts by Zeb and Haniya and Mekaal Hasan Band, dance concert by Nighat Chaudhry and puppet show by Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop at various theatres and halls in Paris.
