The Algerian town of Blida, otherwise called "the town of the roses", will host the second edition of the Pan-African Cultural Festival, reported the Algérian Presse Service (APS). According to APS, "More than 60 song and dance troupes will perform during the 18 July festival."
Blida, called the town of the roses because of the beautiful orange trees and rose flowers adorning the city, is located at the foot of the Atlas mountain at an altitude of 260 metres, in the green region of the Mitidja, itself the vegetable garden of Algiers, the capital. Inhabited by 780,000 people, this town of arts and tradition cherishes the Andalusia music which had dominated festivals from 1996 to 1998.
