“You must be the change you wish to see in the world” These words, spoken by a true revolutionary, hold the same impact and meaning as they did several years ago when spoken by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The South Asian Alliance give you the opportunity to Be The Change, yourself and take part in the TELUS South Asian Alliance Culture Show 2008. With a focus of giving back to the community, we would like to help those in need and raise awareness for causes of importance to South Asians and Canadians alike. In 2007, South Asian Alliance had the opportunity to focus on heart disease in collaboration with the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The South Asian Alliance helped raise awareness of the issue that affects so many in our community and will hopefully encourage students, young professionals and community members to Be The Change in their own lives and others for the fight against heart disease. Stayed posted for more information on this year’s charity of choice! Taking place at the beautiful and prestigious Hershey Center in Mississauga, Ontario. Having a show in the diversity capital of the world and a North American South Asian hub, SAA invites you to experience the elements of an unforgettable weekend experience! Over 1500 energetic unversity student participants and competitors, dozens of unique dance styles, creative themes and props, and well renowned feature acts – the TELUS South Asian Alliance Culture Show will be one of the largest of its kind in North America.
