African cultures celebrated

See Africa through the eyes of its children as the African Heritage Association of Vancouver Island presents its second annual African Eloquent Youth Celebration. The celebration is based on an event that is popular in Africa that promotes the diverse cultures and people of the continent.

The Youth Celebration takes place at the University of Victoria and celebrates African culture through music, dance, food, education and fashion. The event include presentations, African storytelling by Courage Eigbike, refreshments and more. The event will be held Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Room 105 of the Harry Hickman Building. Admission is by donation.
